The Alps are a mountain system located in south-central Europe, to the immediate north of the Mediterranean Sea. They extend for almost 700 miles in a crescent shape from Austria and Slovenia in the east; through Italy, Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Germany; to France in the west. The highest mountain in the Alps is Mont Blanc, at 4808 metres.

There are a variety of things that visitors can take part in, such as kayaing, canoeing, mountain biking, hiking, snow-trekking, rock-climbing, cross-country skiing, horse-riding and more. There are also ski resorts located in the alps, where people can ski, snowboard and do many snow-related acitivties.

  3. In addition to being a natural attraction, the alps can also be an event attraction as many different outdoor activities can held in the alps, such as skiing, hiking and mountain biking.

  4. I agree with Vi Chien and Wendy that the place in discussion (The Alps) is classified under a natural attraction. For the people who are adventurous enough to travel to greater heights (or even the peak), they will be rewarded with a great sense of acheivement after a test of their stamina and endurance (both physical and mental), as well as a great scenic view of fold mountains.

  6. I agree with most of your comments except the labelling of this attraction as "event" attraction. Perhaps you want to name this "adventure" tourism instead because an event is more structured. Events include Singapore Gardening week, International Choir festivals, F1 races, YOG, Olympics...etc. Tourists visit a country to attend the organized event (usually large-scale).
